Our Spring Market was held at Annapolis Friends Meeting on 4 May 2019. In addition to fellowship, outreach, and the opportunity to simplify our lives by passing on items we no longer need, we also learned about and helped to raise funds for four non-profit causes (Educational Resources of Antigua Guatemala, Changing Perceptions/Voices for a Second Chance, Interfaith Action for Human Rights, and the Light House—Carol Brantley Light and Love Fund). Net proceeds were $6,958.80 —a Quaker Spring Market record--providing $1,677.20 for each cause. Young Friends’ discernment process led them to donate $500 ($250 from each Quaker Market during this school year) to Anne Arundel County Food Bank. Leftovers were leveraged to provide in-kind support to a variety of organizations. Warm thanks to the multiple committees and many individuals--especially Young Friends—who supported the event!
Save the date: Quaker Holiday Market is December 7th!
