Join Friends for this Season of Creation activity,
to reflect on creation and to care for creation while collecting seeds from our native
Eastern Redbud and Flowering Dogwood trees on
Friday, October 3rd at 11am – 1:30
come for as short or as long as you’d like

We welcome tree-shakers, seed rakers, ladder climbers,
and nature lovers of all ages, shapes, and sizes, to help us collect seeds and seed pods.
We will be gathering seeds to share with the
Maryland Department of Natural Resources
to help provide our state source material for restocking the seed bank that serves the
“Maryland 5 Million Tree Initiative” of 2021
to be planted in our state by 2030.
We received 30 plus trees as a result of this program which created AFM’s Edible Trail.
WE HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US!
OUTSIDE… IN NATURE!
Come and gather seeds, or just take in some sun – we hope to see you.
Refreshments provided. Chairs, too.
If any questions, please reach out.

With special thanks to DNR, Natural Resources Planner II,
Francis Smith, who spotted our seed-laden trees and told us of this program.
He describes a portion of the seed collection process in a short segment in the
“Outdoors Maryland” series on MPT entitled “Raising the Forest” (at the 8:20 mark) produced by Sarah Sampson.
