This week is full of committee hearings…
- Reclaiming Renewable Energy Act of 2023 (SB0590) has hearing in Senate Education, Energy and the Environment Committee on 2/28 @ 1PM. Quaker Voice submitted testimony today in support of this bill and will be tuning in on Thursday for the live stream* of the hearing.
- EmPOWER Reform (SB0689/HB0904) has hearing in both Senate (2/28) and House (3/2) committees. Quaker Voice submitted supporting testimony today to the Senate, will submit testimony tomorrow to the House, and will be tuning in on Tuesday and Thursday for the live stream* of the hearings.
- YES Act! (SB93/HB96) has a hearing in the House Judiciary Committee on 3/2 @ 1PM. Quaker Voice submitted testimony today in support of this bill and will be tuning in on Thursday for the live stream* of the hearing. We are also working on a letter signing campaign for residents of District 46 to ask for support from President of the Senate Senator Ferguson and Judiciary Chair Delegate Clippinger – so if you are in that district, stay tuned!
*Pro tip: On the day of the committee hearing you can go to the General Assembly home page and scroll down to the “Live Media” section to be able to access sessions being actively live streamed from the House or Senate. This option is only available if the session is currently live!

Chesapeake Climate Action Network is requesting folks contact their legislators before the bill hearings for SB0781/HB0793 happen next week (3/6 & 3/7); check out our action alert posting to send a message!
