Holiday Sharing – Gifts for Children and more

By December 5th, email info@annapolisfriends.org if you want to support families with the Light House. Friends can sign-up to offer gifts to children.

There are other ways for us to share ourselves with local Families to support them to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We can donate fresh or frozen turkeys or we can donate money to the Anne Arundel Food Bank. See the letter to Friends below:

AFM  Holiday Sharing

Dear Friends,

We are back to our yearly AFM Holiday Sharing. This is when we share ourselves with local Families to support them to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This year, our program has changed to accommodate the past challenges of managing financial donations by our treasure office. We opted for following the county’s suggestions as described below:

1) Donate fresh or frozen turkeys, hams, and/or chickens: We are seeing a 100% increase in requests for turkeys, hams, and whole chickens. Last year, we assisted 2,000 households. That number has doubled to over 4,000 requests already this year for November alone! Unfortunately, we currently only have resources to support half of these requests. Please drop off perishable food donations at our warehouse and give them directly to our warehouse team so we can refrigerate them upon arrival. Bring your donation to our warehouse at 120 Marbury Drive, Crownsville. Monday through Friday, from 9:00am until 3:00pm.

2) Make a donation: A gift of any size can make a huge difference for a neighbor in need this holiday season. Your donation helps us purchase food for healthy, joyful holiday meals. www.aafoodbank.org/donate-today.

If Friends want to sign up to offer gifts to children, please, email us at info@annapolisfriends.org by Dec 5th, so we can support families with the Light House.

We look forward to celebrating the Holidays with our community! Thanks for being part of it!

Blessings,

AFM Holiday Sharing Committee
