Library Committee
  • Organizes and maintains AFM's books, pamphlets, magazines and videos on the shelves.
  • Manages books that are checked out and the returns.
  • Orders new books and considers books that are requested. Appropriate books will be added.
  • Processes and catalogs new books into the system to ensure they are listed in the online database.
  • Renews and maintains subscriptions to Friends Journal*, Quaker Life*, and Pendle Hill pamphlets*.
  • Selects books and pamphlets for the Query of the Month and displays them on the counter shelf.
  • Informs the Communications Committee about the Query of the Month books.
  • Maintains and refreshes the Information Shelf in the Foyer located adjacent to the Worship Room.

The Library Committee encourages Friends to ask for their help when trying to find a book or when searching for a book by topic.

  • * Pendle Hill is a Quaker retreat and study center that offers courses of short duration or long duration. Pendle Hill publishes short pamphlets on many Quaker topics.
