Built on a rich tradition of stewardship at Annapolis Friends …
The Annapolis Friends Meetinghouse was built in 1993 and for thirty plus years Friends have expressed their faith in their care and stewardship of the Meetinghouse lands. The Meeting is especially grateful for the leadership spanning three decades by the late, beloved Friend, Bob Bruninga. Bruninga, was among other things a visionary innovator and activist. He played a significant role in equipping the Meetinghouse and lands with solar panels and EV-charging stations and for many years played an active role in the Meetinghouse and Lands Committee. He was also active in the Climate Stewards of Greater Annapolis, a forward-thinking clearinghouse group that was affiliated with the Annapolis Friends Meeting and played an active leadership role as a hub for environmental information and activism. With one of the key members of the group Philip Favero moving to the west coast, followed by the onset of the pandemic, and the death of Bob Bruninga in 2020, the group is no longer active.
We welcome your help in documenting the history of the Meetinghouse Lands and helping us to better tell our story.
