Peace Ribbon Project

75th Anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki:  On August 6-9, people around the world will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with vigils and demonstrations highlighting the need for nuclear disarmament.  The Peace Ribbon Campaign includes banners from around the world, including those made by members of Annapolis Friends Meeting. In the words of the coalition (thepeaceribbon.org), “This peace we seek is more than the absence of war. It is rather a peace that is rooted in justice and imbued with compassion. It is well-being and harmony, a restoration of right order among all peoples and creation.”
