“This coming Sunday, July 17th the Caucus of African American Leaders in partnership with the NAACP, CAST, and the United Black Clergy of Anne Arundel County is inviting members of the community to attend the 11:00 a.m. church services of the Kingdom Celebration Center, 952 Annapolis, Road, Gambrills, Maryland.
Earlier this week, vandals scrawled racist graffiti on the church doors. A press conference was held at the church and elected officials and civil rights leaders including Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, Councilwomen Sarah Farrar Lacey, Lisa Brannigan Rodvien, Councilman Andrew Pruski, State Senator Pam Beidle, Delegates Mike Rogers, Shaneka Henson denounced this hate crime.
They were joined in their condemnation by John Dove Jr., Gary Simmons, Marguerite Morris, Jacqueline Allsup, Priscilla Monroe, Dee Goodwyn, and J Demetrius Watts, Apostle Larry Lee Thomas Sr. Larry Diggs, Randy Curtis Jr., Christian Andrew, and other prominent civil rights and community leaders.
This Sunday, July 17th, we are inviting the community to attend church services at Kingdom Celebration Center to express our solidarity with Apostle Antonio Palmer and Pastor Barbara Palmer in their efforts to bring the community together after this despicable act.
The church service will serve as an inspirit and hobbledehoy moment for youth and Anne Arundel County.
Unfortunately, we have seen acts of racism before and we know that the work to eliminate it is far from over. However, we know at the church service we will have an akimbo moment, where both God and his people will be joined.
If you are able to join us, do so. This event is open to the entire community regardless of your race, religion, gender, preferences, or party affiliation.
The Palmers believe in the power of prayer and so do we. It was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who famously said,
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”.
On Sunday show your love for the members of this church that daily works to create the kingdom on earth”
