Urgent Action Alert – Get Ombuds Bill Scheduled for a Vote!

– Help needed for Incarcerated People

From Quaker Voice of Maryland Newsletter of March 16, 2022

“Hello Friends,

This is the final week for bills to be voted out of committee and the Ombudsman Bill has yet to be scheduled in either the House or the Senate.
If it does not happen this week the bill is likely to go nowhere this year which would be a huge loss for criminal justice reform work in Maryland. Maryland needs an independent Correctional Ombudsman so that MD prisons can become more transparent, more equitable, and more effective.

This action alert was created by our bill partner Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform.
Thank you for taking a moment to support criminal justice reform in MD.👏👏👏
