Meeting for Learning

The Education Committee, a subcommittee of the Ministry & Worship Committee will present a Meeting for Learning at 9:15 am to 10:45 am on May 23rdBased on questions that were raised in the 2021 Introduction to Quakerism 101, a deeper dive into Quakerism continues. The format varies, but we invite Friends to share their own knowledge and experience, and we always invite questions. Our resources have recently included the Quaker Speak collection of educational videos, and Friends are welcome to explore the wide variety of topics at quakerspeak.com.

Friends Writing TogetherGroup

At 12:30pm on Sunday, May 23rd, Friends Writing Together allows us to indulge our creative selves and let words pour from our deepest places. What arrives may be a funny or poignant memory, a work of fiction, new lyrics or a poem, often surprising us with where we have been led. During the gathering, writing prompts are offered which begin the flow, and we write for 8 minutes. We then have the option to share our writing with the other participants, who offer not critique, but what moved them. We are a warm, welcoming group, so if you would like to put pen to paper or fingertips to keyboard, join us.

AFM Website – Revision

Check out the AFM Website!!! There were some recent changes thanks to our very own Webmaster, Sheryl G! Well done, Sheryl!!

The first is that the Weekly Announcements have their own page, so that Highlights can be a listing of new information beyond the schedule and notices. Notice that under the word Highlights is the title Weekly Announcements that is a hyperlink.  The second change is that the Homepage sidebar information agrees with the Pandemic Era page. The third change is that the Visitor Information Form is available from a dropdown under Newcomers. More changes will come about, as needed. Please explore and enjoy!

Contact Ellen M. for more information by email to info@annapolisfriends.org.

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening

From 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During that time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
