Friends Writing Together
On June 19th at 12:30 pm, the F/friends can meet on Zoom and write stories, poems, or snipits. All are invited to the Friends Writing Together. We write from prompts that are provided by a facilitator, which is a brief suggestion intended to elicit images, stories, and thoughts, which only you know, to which only you can give voice. Sharing aloud is optional. We do not critique this fresh writing, but offer what touched us. Everyone has stories—the prompts simply help guide us toward them. No experience necessary; all ages welcome. Bringing your lunch is optional..

Meetinghouse is OPEN
Path Forward Reminders
This is a friendly reminder that our Meetinghouse is again open for both AFM and non-AFM activities and that we have resumed rental activities as of April 1, 2022. We now hold 8 am worship (no technology) on a weekly basis. Our 11 am worship continues in a blended format (in person with the option of joining via Zoom) on a weekly basis.
As we return to a greater in-person presence, Friends are reminded to monitor your health, staying home if you are not feeling well. Should you discover you have COVID after being at a Meeting activity, you are encouraged to contact the clerk or assistant clerk at clerk@annapolisfriends.org. If appropriate, others in the AFM community will be informed that someone (without specifying who) has tested positive so that others may make informed decisions about their own health.
As we continue to navigate the presence of COVID, we want to continue to foster a respectful community where we can make our own informed choices and respect each other’s choices related to mask wearing, physical distancing, and comfort participating in events with food.
For information on current transmission levels, see the Anne Arundel County Department of Health website (updated on Fridays).
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) offers guidelines on masks during high periods of transmission.

Meeting for Learning – June 26: Quaker Call To Action
On June 26 (Sunday) at 9:15 am, a Meeting for Learning (MfL) will be held as a blended meeting (in person and on Zoom. The MfL will be a time of sharing and mutual discernment as to Friends’ role in these increasingly-ominous political times.
A group of leading U.S. Quakers has proposed:
- a resolution that AFM & BYM publicly might endorse,
- two queries to assist in our discernment; and
- four recommended nonpartisan actions that Friends might consider taking.
Please join us on June 26 at 9:15 a.m. for this timely Meeting. Here is a Zoom link for those who do not prefer to participate in-person.

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening
From 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm every Thursday, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During that time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
