Weekly Announcements

There are three (3) kinds of  worship at Annapolis Friends Meeting (AFM):

  1. Spiritually connected, physically apart and without technology at 8:00 am on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays
  2. In-Person at the meetinghouse. Attendees will practice physical-distancing and stay home if ill. Masks are optional outdoors. Masks are to be worn when inside the meetinghouse if there is more than one person, unless those present agree to not wear masks. F/friends are encouraged to be respectful of each person’s comfort level. 
    • 8:00 am on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays
    • 11:00 am on the 1st & 3rd Sundays
  3. Online video conferencing at 11:00 am using Zoom each Sunday: ZOOM LINK; Phone: 301-715-8592, Meeting ID: 650 269 455, Passcode: 241727

As is our tradition, joys and announcements are shared after each Meeting for Worship (MfW). Although the information below does not include all of the joys or announcements for our community, it is wonderful to share what we have available.

Help Wanted!!!

There is a need to increase the teams for Zoom hosts, M&W Conveners and Outreach Greeters who can assist with both on-site and online roles. North County Meeting for Worship

The North County Meeting will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on August 3rd. This is an in-person event (no technology) held outdoors in Glen Burnie, MD on the 1st Tuesday each month.

Spiritual Friends Group

On August 12th (Thursday) at 4:00 pm, the Spiritual Friends Group will be meeting virtually. They always meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month, not in-person, but on Zoom. Click HERE. We meet to nurture our spiritual lives and, if requested, to ask the group to hold us accountable to our individual intentions. Everyone is welcome. Quakers and non-Quakers!

Meeting for Worship – Blended

On August 15th (Sunday) at 11:00 pm, the third blended Meeting for Worship (MfW) will be held with attendees in-person inside the meetinghouse and other attendees joining worship using Zoom. If attending in-person, masks are required. No registration is needed. Windows will be open for ventilation. MfW will not be held outside.

There were two prior blended meetings and the reviews were very favorable. Friends were pleased to be back inside the meetinghouse. Path Forward (PF) and Meetinghouse & Land (MH&L) committees have been diligent with regards to protocols. The plan is to have blended MfW on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. The next blended MfW opportunities are scheduled for August 15th and September 5th.

Wednesday Meditation Group

At 7:00 pm every Wednesday, the Meditation Group meets on Zoom. The meeting starts with 40-minutes of silent meditation followed by a book discussion. The book changes and is selected by the group. Zoom LINK. Phone: 301-715-8592, Meeting ID: 821 9517 1855, Passcode: 066188

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening

From 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm on every Thursday, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During that time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
