Young Friend’s silent vigil for climate action

Feb. 3rd -

It is the 25th day of Young Friend Kallan Benson's silent vigil at the Annapolis Statehouse. She has crocheted around 500 butterflies and handed out over 200. Her green lifeline--the scarf she adds to each day is 12.5' long. She is constructing it in stitched together 7' sections, so she can donate separate scarves after the legislative session. She has really appreciated and put to good use all the yarn ends you have donated.
If you are interested in supporting her, she is...
  • Looking to get the word out to kids about striking with her (silent or vocal) on February 18 (President's Day)--Kids of all ages, parents, teachers, grandparents, concerned citizens,...are welcome. She needs help getting the word out.
  • Always seeking for more yarn. All colors and ends are welcome. She also has particular need for green.
  • Happy to have company any Tuesday-Friday at Lawyer's Mall.
  • Delighted when people stop by with treats or bring hot beverages (she has a reusable cup if you are in the area).
