On the Calendar, select the “Agenda” view if you would like to see a list by clicking on the word “Month” at the top right corner of the calendar and select “Agenda” from the dropdown list.

Reparations Discussion – April 30th

The Change Group is sponsoring the fourth meeting to discuss reparations with breakout groups:  (a) What is our language around reparations? (b) What possible steps can AFM take? (c) How might AFM participate in a local truth and reconciliation process?  The meeting will start at 7:00 pm on April 30th

For more information, contact Phil C. at social-concerns@annapolisfriends.org.

Quaker Market – May 1st

There will be a modified Spring Quaker Market on May 1st where pre-ordered food, plants, furniture, postcards, and olive oil can be picked up curbside at the meetinghouse during specified time-slots.

For more information, contact Cairn K. at market@annapolisfriends.org.

First Day School

The Children’s Religious Education Committee and their “Second Circle” would like to extend the invitation to the broader AFM community to volunteer to help out with First Day School at some point during the remainder of the school year. This would help our small circle of adults already involved, and would be a great opportunity for you to help build community across ages at AFM. And, it’s fun!

AFM Minutes

As Quakers will, they create Minutes as records of decisions made or as a line in the sand drawn or an advocacy that the members feel strongly about. When the Meeting (i.e., the group of people who have gathered to discuss business) is in unity about an issue, a Minute is drafted, read, approved and posted.

Annapolis Friends Meeting has eleven (11) Minutes ranging from 1994 to this year (2021), in addition to the records from our Meetings for Worship (MfW) with Attention to Business (wAtB). In the meetinghouse, many of the decision Minutes or advocacy Minutes are in frames hanging on the foyer wall. The eleven (11) Minutes are also posted on the AFM website. From the Homepage > About Us > Meeting Minutes > Click on Meeting Decision Minutes.  Or you can use the following link: Meeting Decision Minutes.

AFM Email Lists

There are two AFM email lists: AFM-Announce and AFM-Discuss. Both of these are on the Google Groups platform. If you are a member of one or both of these groups, you might want to check out the conversations, manage your membership and more.

In your browser, go to (click here) Google Groups- My groups.  You may have to sign into your Google account. Click on the Group that you want to review and, notice that on the right column, there will be several options, including: Conversations, Members and your membership settings. This is where you can see the list of members and where you can change your email address, how you see the emails or leave the group. At the top of the screen and in the red font is the Leave Group button.

If you are on one of the lists, but not on the other one and want to get on the other list, you can send an email to listmaster@annapolisfriends.org with a request to join whichever of the groups you would like to join.

5th Night Light – Every Thursday evening

From 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the AFM community engages in a spiritual practice that acknowledges the Light of God within each person and that to be in community is to actively care for one another. During that time, Friends hold people and situations who need additional spiritual support in the Light. Friends will pause wherever they may be, read the list of names, and hold each person or situation in our hearts and in the Light. On Wednesday, the list of names or situations are sent out to the AFM-Announce list.
